Melissa lives in southeastern New Mexico. While earning a degree in communications, she worked as a fine and performing arts critic for the New Mexico State University News, and won a national advertizing competition award for music and lyrics. Since then, she won The Letters to Juliet Sonnet Competition on Harper Collins’ Authonomy website, has a poem in The Spirit of Poe Anthology and won The September Paragraphs of Power Contest held by Australian author, and promoter, Suzanna Burke. She writes poetry, short stories, novelettes, and novels.
